Peter Stein, Owner and Consultant

Mr. Peter Stein has been working in and around the Food Industry for 35+ years. His new company “Peter Stein Food Safety Solutions Inc (PSFSS Inc.).” has allowed Peter to apply his decades of in-plant experience to help food producers develop their Food Safety Programs, avoid Recalls, or work through Government Intervention. Protecting your Brand and reducing risk to the consumer. Providing industry best practice programs and procedures.

Peter graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1983 with a B.Sc. in Bio-Chemistry & Microbiology. Work experience includes Production Supervisor, QA Technician, QA Manager, R&D Manager, Sanitation/Hygiene Subject Matter Expert and as a Corporate Food Safety and Quality Assurance Director.   Peter’s expertise is primarily in QA, Food Safety, Regulatory, and Sanitation. Peter’s work history includes Coca Cola, Labatt’s Brewing, Bittner Packers, Kretschmar Fine Foods, Shopsy’s Foods – Unilever, DiverseyLever and Corporate Piller’s Fine Foods a Premium Brands Company.

Volunteer work: Mr. Stein is a Past President of the Ontario Food Protection Association (OFPA), and Past President of the Sheet Harbour Chamber of Commerce. On the Board of the Royal Canadian Legion, Marina Association and Harbourview Lodge Boards. He is a sustaining member of The Canadian Meat Council and remains on the CMC Technical Advisory Committee, Condensation Working Group, and Listeria Working Group these past 27-years. Working very closely with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) & Health Canada in Ottawa.

Jessie Chiu

Jessie Chiu is an international and diverse food safety and quality assurance professional with 25 years in the food industry ranging across several countries and manufacturing sectors. Jessie started to work in Hong Kong and China since she graduated from British Columbia Institute of Technology in Food Technology, BC Canada. 

Jessie is currently a key partner, working directly with Peter Stein Food Safety Solutions Inc. as a subject matter consultant specifically regarding, food safety programs and standards including GFSI certification programs, HACCP systems, and the new SFCR’s approved and licensed Preventative Control Program (PCP).  Since 2005, Jessie came back to Canada and starting working in Toronto Ontario for various CFIA federally registered meat facility.   

From a fast-learning bilingual QC Supervisor at a fully automated beverage bottling facility, to a QC Officer at a listed leading fast-food chain with business over Asian and American countries, she was the key influence for these companies to setup the ISO 9001 and HACCP systems to further expanding their business across the world.    

From raw or RTE meat and plant-based protein, food safety quality assurance and PCP/HACCP compliance are always the focus and the top priority for Jessie to run faster and further with the food industry in the world. 

Peck Yap

Peck Yap is a dynamic Food Safety and Quality Professional with 27 years of progressive experience in food safety and quality management, policy and procedure development, process validation, project management, process improvement, product development, plant sanitation legislation and regulations. She holds a Master’s degree in Food Science from the University of Guelph and earned a Six Sigma Green belt from McGill University. She has worked in the processed meat/food industry as Project Coordinator, R&D Manager, and Quality Assurance Manager. 

Peck is now a Technical Consultant with Prime Quality Safe Food Solutions, providing professional technical services to the food sector, helping food companies in issues solving, food safety and quality program development, product and development as well as achieving a GFSI certification. 

Peck specks fluently in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
